About Our Restaurant
The Benoit family had a dream, some land, and wonderful friends, John and Esther Benoit had often envisioned themselves as the owners/operators of a family restaurant.  In the spring of 1987, they began their journey.  John and his workers built the land up to sea level and constructed docks for visiting boats.  Wayne Dudley, a friend of John’s, told him of a restaurant, named The Jetties, in Cameron, Louisiana, that needed to be moved from its present location.  John, Esther, and some friends drove to Cameron just to take a look.  To their surprise, the restaurant was almost identical to the one they were planning to build.  As Esther walked on the porch of the building, she saw before her a double rainbow.  She turned to John and said, “This building is coming home with us.”  It took months, but thanks to Ray Duhon, Duhon Construction Co., Butch Bean with Marine Fueling Service, and Charlie Guidry, the wonderful building began it’s journey to it’s new home at the foot of the Rainbow Bridge.  On Wednesday, November 1, 1989, at 11:00 a.m., the doors of Esther’s Seafood and Oyster Bar, Inc. opened for the first time.  John and Esther Benoit, their son Kurt and wife Cheryl, and their daughter, Sheila, invite you to enjoy and believe, dreams that you dare to dream really come true.
